2ND GEN RACER TO DEBUT HOME BUILT GASSER AT KNOXVILLE
Published on 9/3/2019
52 year old
Trevor Weiss
got hooked on racing at an early age watching his Dad (Hero) race AHRA and NHRA Jr Stock in the old days. Trevor's Dad Don Weiss started racing in 1959 so he passed a lot of Talent and history down to his son. Living in Colorado at the time Trevor watched close as his dad race the Jr Stocker. Years later a move to Cuthbert Ga found Trevor honing his skills as a paint an
d body man at Childre Chevy where he has been working ever since. In 1983 while still in high school Trevor himself started racing then in 1991 he started running NHRA Stock eliminator with a 1967 Camaro.
Fast forward to 2018 when Trevor found out about the
Southeast Gassers Association
and noticed that the cars were classified by weight to cubic inch and as any true racer knows the way it should be for heads up racing. He checked it out then he and his dad started the task of building a Gasser to the very strict SEGA rules. In his dad's back yard shop with help from High school buddy
Dan Schreiber
and Brother
Jeff Weiss
the masterpiece seen in the pics rolled out of the back yard shop over a year later. The car was completely built right there in the back yard shop and of course painted by Trevor.
They chose to build the car to fit the very tough B/Gas class and Trevor knows it's going to be tough. He's going to be fighting with real class racers that have lots of experience in the almost extinct world of weight to cubic inch Drag Racing. With over 70 other SEGA legal cars expected Trevor is looking forward to getting started and is planning
Knoxville Dragstrip
to be his debut September 28th.
